I am an embroiderer and textile artist living and working in Rhosesmor, near Mold in North Wales.
I use a wide range of techniques including free machine embroidery, layering of fabrics, fibres and papers to create mixed media textile art. I also make smaller embroidered items such as jewellery, notebooks and scarves.
I work in sketchbooks, sampling, drawing and exploring ideas. I have recently been researching, photographing and drawing ideas based on rocks and stones.
My studio is in a rural location providing inspiration for local landscapes, which is a topic I come back to frequently, always finding a new aspect to explore.
I am a member of Chimera textile group and the North Wales Branch of the Embroiderer’s Guild. I exhibit regularly in local exhibitions, I also attend selected art and craft fairs.
In the last two years I have had work exhibited in the Grosvenor Museum in Chester, Virgin Art Exhibition in Mold, Mold Arts Festival, North Wales Embroiderers Guild biennial exhibition in Rhos on Sea, Gwernaffield Art exhibition, The North Wales Open Exhibition at Theatre Clwyd, Wrexham and Bangor Open exhibitions and The Willow Gallery in Oswestry.
My studio is regularly open as part the Helfa Gelf Art Trail in September, this year there were 6 artists showing their work alongside mine, as ‘Eurgain Studio’.
