I am a full time artist living in Herefordshire near the border of Wales. I’m often moved to create art from seeing nature, cinematic scenes, reading and the experience of raw emotions in relation to contact with others; looking to capturing an essence of these experiences in my minds eye without doing a miss-service and always with the hope of retaining the beauty that I was initially captured by .
I use acrylic paint when feeling energised and spiritually moved by an experience, this allows me to portray narratives through the shapes and colours I see and feel. Pen and ink has been a constant friend through the years, it is precise yet fluid, it is clean and easy to pick up and put down and started my re-entry into dedicating my life to art.
The paintings featured here are a selection from 3 series; The Spanish Collection depicts a water world where families were seeking ways to cool down from the intense Spanish heat in 2015.
The World of Birds, 2016, started out with a commissioned piece of the three painted Peacocks and has led to further studies of other birds.
Landscapes with water, 2016. These were inspired by travel and feeling excited by colour and reflections.
