Entries invited for an Open Exhibition by Chester Art Centre.
We are happy to invite new and established artists to enter our Open Exhibition, which is going to be very different from what you might have previously participated in.
We are not asking for your original pieces of work, all we need is the digital IMAGES that can be printed off on our Giclee printer as A3 (FREE OF CHARGE!) to be displayed in beautiful hotels, stylish restaurants, funky bars and other exciting business venues across Chester, where the people of Chester and its visitors will be able to see them and choose the winners through our voting system. The exhibition will run throughout the summer and the winners will be announced in early September.
The importance of visual arts to the future of Chester is fully recognised by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Heritage and Visual Arts Strategy that was adopted by the Cabinet meeting of 15th March, based on a thorough analysis of what motivates people to visit the City. Chester Art Centre in Northgate Street is in the centre of the area designated in the 2012 One City Plan as Chester’s Arts Quarter and just 100 metres from the new theatre (The Storyhouse) opening in May. This initiative is intended to bring together the arts community and local businesses to take up the opportunities that are emerging this year.
We are looking to exhibit 200 PIECES OF ART belonging to the following 4 categories: Oil and Acrylic paintings, Watercolours, Photography, Digital and Tattoo Art.
