Miles and Pippa have led a nomadic lifestyle aboard their boat. Their years of travel have inspired a body of work that documents many places and continues to influence them. They recently settled in St. Asaph and the new experience of looking out of the studio onto a view that is changed only by nature is starting to have its impact; it’s exciting to see where this new vision will take them.
Miles has drawn since his childhood years and has developed an exceptional eye for line, tone and shade. He uses his life drawing experience in his figurative work as well as in his large ‘story paintings’ which give expression to world events that catch his interest.
Pippa uses marbling to create papers that she uses in hand made sketchbooks and journals. She also uses their large collection of nautical charts to make interesting and unique travel journals.
Their work may be seen at their home gallery which is open 5 days a week. Opening times and more information is available on the gallery website – http://www.myrtlehousegiftgallery.co.uk
