I originally trained as an Illustrator and now paint for exhibition, to commission and of course for my own pleasure. My studio is in a beautiful location which means I’m never short of inspiration.
I work mainly in gouache, but also ink, pencil and watercolour as I like to keep my work as varied as possible. I believe this brings both freshness and individuality to my finished work.
I am part of a group of twelve artists with work on display at Tan yr Hall gallery in Bala, on the High Street, and I have a selection of original work, prints and cards available there. The group is very varied in style and mediums so well worth a visit!
I regularly show my work at local exhibitions and have been involved in Helfa Gelf (the North Wales Art Trail) for several years. I enjoy teaching, talking about my work and giving demonstrations, please get in touch if you would like me to visit your group. I also hold monthly workshops at my local community centre in Ffrith
I’m passionate about the therapeutic value of art – as relaxation, as a means of increasing self-worth and as a sociable activity. I’ve been involved in several projects, including exhibitions to celebrate World Mental Health Day, a thriving community art group where people come together socially to practice their artistic skills and have worked with people with dementia and their carers.
I also work to commission, mainly on animal portraits – you can browse some of the examples here. These make a thoughtful gift for a special occasion or a memento of a much loved pet. Please contact me for details – I’ll be happy to discuss your requirements.
