Carol started out as a potter in 1978 and continued to make and sell her work for the next 19 years. When other opportunities came she moved into painting and printing, teaching to adults and children along the way.
When her circumstances changed and she needed to move her career forward again she did her first Helfa Gelf in 2012 with her fellow Cilcain Artisans. It was this that gave her the germ of an idea to combine her artwork with the pottery.
It was a few months later when she met someone who gave her information on the equipment she would need for this new venture. By March 2013 she had set herself up and began producing mugs with her own designs and was able to source the bone china she now uses.
She has also been involved with schools in producing Father’s Day mugs to raise school funds. Other artists are now working with her for the production of their own work on mugs, coasters and even jigsaws!
Marketing has taken much time and Carol now trades at craft shows, exhibits locally, she has her work on Etsy, and has her own website http://www.caroludale.com
She’s hoping that 2016 onwards will be even more busy and successful.
She’s still drawing, painting and printing along with her classes and anyone who has attended any of her classes knows and benefits from her enthusiasm and talent for arts & crafts.
She has developed a new range of watercolours over the last year which have been loosely based on her walks with Daisy the dog. These have been getting a positive response and selling well through Helfa Gelf and Exhibitions.
